The Blues Machine Called Demona
The contrast between the two woods is visually striking.
This is the first in a series of articles on the instruments we’ll be showing at the upcoming NAMM Show in January, 2026.
A mahogany body with a bookmatched rosewood top is the heart and soul of this very special Demona. The contrast between the two woods is visually striking and these woods have been traditionally used over the centuries for both acoustic and electric guitars.
The body is smooth and luxurious in feel due to its hand oiled finish. The grain is there and feels natural to the touch. The mahogany neck has a rosewood headstock plate to match the body. The ebony fretboard is subtle and meant to compliment, not take away from the esthetics of the build. Jumbo frets with bullet ends feel smooth to the touch.

Sound is produced by a set of Rio Grande Texas Barbeque pickups in torched nickel finish. These humbucker pickups are made for Texas blues. They are wound in the PAF style with 12.5K winds over AlNiCo V magnets. This is not a distortion set of pickups, but rather a pair of hefty balls to get your point across. They are hotter with a classic sound. Creamy and powerful! These are wired through a set of 500K CTS pots and a 3-way Switchcraft switch.
The nickel strings are hung on a set of Hipshot satin Nickel locking tuners and an amazing VegaTrem tremelo bridge in matching satin. The understated finish on the components and pickups let the beauty of the wood take center stage along with your talent with a pick.
